Aviaries

You will no doubt have read a lot about the aviaries of late. We should explain that Friends do not of course have a view on them. However it is clear that there is a wide range of opinions as to the desirability or not of maintaining them. It should be noted that:-­

• considerable refurbishment of the aviaries has taken place over recent years most particularly over the past twelve months
• all the birds are rescue birds that would otherwise have been destroyed
• that all are domesticated and as such not fit to be released into the wild as they would be immediately vulnerable to predators
• that a specific post holder employed by IDVerde now inspects and cleans the aviaries twice each day
