If you have visited the park recently you will have seen that the side borders of the old rose garden have been cleared – thanks to the team from IDVerde who have done such a good job. The Committee had a long discussion about next steps for the redevelopment and we plan to move ahead with the new entrance area comprising new steps, a ramp for disabled and buggy access and hand rails. NBC will hopefuly be able to re-‐surface the hard standing and also remove some of the currently grassed areas, retaining the central bed and two green areas at the far end of the space.
We have to apply for funding for the new entrance and we await estimates as to costs as we go to press. Once these phases are completed, detailed plans for the hard standing will be developed, hopefully to include picnic tables and simple play areas for young children.
