The original Peace Garden was created by West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) and The Friends of Abington Park to honour the staff and residents of local care homes who tragically lost their lives during Covid‑19. It remains a place of reflection, remembrance, and gratitude.

In 2023, the flower bed was relocated just a few yards to a more suitable position within the park. Since then, thanks to the continued support of The Friends of Abington Park, WNC Ranger Tom, The Live Service, and Canto Learning Ltd, the garden has been lovingly maintained.
This year, with funding from Northampton Town Council, students from Canto Learning have been able to supply and plant a new selection of spring bulbs, helping the Peace Garden continue to flourish as a living tribute to our community
