The Spinney Project
This is our major current project and will take a number of years to complete.
For a number of months a dedicated and hard working group led by Tom Robinson our Park Ranger and Chris Calnan, have been clearing and securing the spinney. Priority is currently the upper spinney which has been neglected for many years.
Plans are now progressing and in January replacement railings will be installed along the stretch adjoining the lake. Where possible, historic sections will be restored and used. West Northamptonshire Councill have kindly agreed to fund this work.
We hope very much to continue the project along the pathway beside the spinney.
In addition to this work, there will also be a study / audit of the state of the trees which will define which need to be kept and which removed or pruned in order to ultimately create a healthy natural area for fauna and fauna.
The team will be posting information of the work on the site as well as the final vision for the area which will transform the spinney into an accessible natural healthy area within the park.
Many thanks to all those who have been working so hard on this project.
