We had wonderful morning planting the peace garden and surrounding area with the friends community volunteers

The winter months are normally a quiet time when we can consider priorities for the coming year and start to make plans for projects and activities.

Another very productive day for our volunteers clearing the view down into the spinney from the edge of the angler's lake, with Idverde kindly supporting us to remove the cuttings.

In case you missed it, Northampton Parks recently shared some great photos of the plants and shrubs from the former Workbridge garden being relocated to Abington Park.

Our dedicated volunteers are back in the park to get it ready for the new season. We’d love for you to get involved, everyone is welcome to join us!

For a number of months a dedicated and hard working group led by Tom Robinson our Park Ranger and Chris Calnan, have been clearing and securing the spinney.

The Friends of Abington park joined BBC radio Northampton three legged walking challenge for children in need last week.

We are delighted to announce that at the Britain in Bloom Neighbourhood Award awards ceremony last Thursday we were awarded the top grade for the second year running - 'Outstanding'.

Thanks to Tom Robinson our WNC park ranger for organising the Green Flag presentation. It was great to see this years flag raised alongside just some of the people who contributed.
